The Toyota Tacoma has been the best-selling midsize pickup in America for years—and it isn't even close. A renowned adventure-ready character and reputation for peerless reliability and longevity have earned the Tacoma a dedicated fanbase. And later this year, the venerable workhorse and trail tackler will enter its long-awaited fourth generation with enhanced features, bolder styling, and higher-than-ever performance from an all-new hybrid powertrain. This list of improvements is extensive, but here's a quick look at a few of our favorites.

  • All-New i-FORCE MAX: Following the footsteps of its larger Tundra sibling, the 2024 Tacoma will offer the model's first-ever hybrid, boosting output to an impressive 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque--nearly doubling the torque of the third-gen's V-6.

  • Trailhunter: The Tacoma's legendary quality, durability, and reliability have made it a preferred platform for off-road trekkers. The 2024 Trailhunter trim lets enthusiasts get ultimate overlanding capability directly from the factory. Highlights include 2.5-inch forged monotube shocks with remote reservoirs, steel bumpers, reinforced recovery points, and a bed utility bar with removable MOLLE panels. The custom suspension and 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires increase ride height by nearly two inches. Other equipment includes RIGID LED fog lamps, a 2400W AC inverter, and a high-mount Trailhunter Air Intake.

  • Cutting-Edge Tech: The 2024 Tacoma features a new 8-inch or available 14-inch touchscreen powered by the latest iteration of Toyota Audio Multimedia. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work wirelessly, and higher tiers upgrade from a 7-inch gauge cluster to a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.

  • Audio Anywhere: The 2024 Tacoma offers an available 10-speaker JBL premium audio system with a new externally coupled subwoofer. The system also includes a JBL® FLEX portable speaker that serves as the center channel when docked. When undocked, it functions as a water-resistant (submergible up to 3 meters) portable Bluetooth speaker with up to six hours of battery life.

  • Toyota Safety Sense 3.0: All 2024 Tacoma models come standard with the latest generation of Toyota's advanced driver-assist suite, including: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist.
